ISTSS 28th Annual Meeting: Abstract Submissoin - Now Open!

The 2012 meeting in Los Angeles will be the year's largest gathering of professionals dedicated to trauma treatment, education, research and prevention. More than 100 symposia, workshops, panel discussions, cases and media presentations will be presented on a wide variety of topics related to traumatic stress.

The ISTSS Conference Committee seeks both oral and poster presentations.

Additional Session Format for 2012! ISTSS is excited to introduce a new session format - roundtables. In addition to our standard sessionformats, roundtable presentations will focus on sharing and reflecting on innovative programs or approaches that may change clinical and reseach practices. Moderated by an expert in the field, roundtables will feature highly structured, individually-submitted presentations followed by active group discussions. Trauma and Disaster:

Complexity, Diversity,

& Recovery

ACOTS:  September 6 - 8 2012      Perth - W.A.

The 2012 ACOTS Conference is a collaboration between the Australasian Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ASTSS) and the Australian Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health (ACPMH).  The conference will be held on September 6th - 8th in Perth, Australia at the Parmelia Hilton.  The 2012 conference will be of inerest to a broad range of people interested in trauma, including practitioners, researches, consumers, service developmers and policy makers.

CONFIRMED SPEAKERS INCLUDE:

Professor Doug Zatzick - Public health approaches to the develpment and implementation of trauma focused interventions in post-disaster contexts.

Professor Michael Scheeringa - Post-traumatic stress in very young children: Recognition, treatment and post-disaster challenges.

Professor Pat Dudgeon - Indigenous people and trauma

Open Calls for Papers (Scheduled for September 7th & 8th 2012)

Symposium: This should include 3 to 4 papers plus questions and/or discussion on a particular theme and should last 90min in total

Paper: This should be of 15 - 20 min duration which will include time for questions; the Scientific Committee will group accepted papers into appropriate symposia

Poster: These will be displayed throughout the conference, with presenters expected to stand next to their poster to answer questions during the specific poster session.

Submissions: will be accepted online only at www.acots.org
